The Volusia County Jr. Lifeguard Program has been the Charity of choice since the first Freeride in 2005. The idea was to give back to the community, help out the kids and show PWC’s in a positive light. Jr Lifeguard Programs do a lot more for kids than just teach them how to swim/ rescue, it’s a life experience that will teach them, as well as give them the confidence they need to go on and make a good life for themselves. In two years we as the Freeride community have raised over $20,000.00 for the program & Beach Services. This has enabled there program grow and serve more of the community. This kind of support for the county has shows that we are not there to just trash the place and leave, but rather make a contribution to the community while we’re having a good time.
